Several members of Intercambio visited the meeting today, including Kimberly, a senior, and juniors Leal, Maddie, and Bacral.  All are mentors with the program that helps 8th grade students in Tigard-Tualatin School District.  There are currently 17 mentee students from each of four middle schools.  Rotary Club members will have an opportunity to participate in round-table mentoring sessions with the Intercambio senior students.  Dates TBA.  A job shadowing program is also planned.

The annual Winery Tour will be held this Sunday Oct. 21.  Meet at the Safeway Sherwood at 11:00 AM.  From there, the bus will take participants to Ladyhill, Alderbrook, and Hyland wineries.

Fund raising for Operation Warm will begin next week.

The first meeting of the Tigard Rotary Book Club was held at Gail Toien’s house last Sunday.  The next meeting will be held at Jacob Pilling’s house on January 26, 2019, time TBA.  The book is The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls.

Pints and Pinots for Polio will be held at Nicoli’s on Oct 24 from 6 – 9 PM.   Cost is $15 per adult and includes a beer or a glass of wine.  Children are an additional $10 per family.  Please come out and support this joint fund raising event to help eradicate Polio.
