International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more.
The International Service Committee helps coordinate the efforts of our international projects in countries all over the world. International projects are selected based on connection to the served community and those that focus on sustainable projects and a multi-year commitment.
Cyprus Friendship Program
The Cyprus Friendship Program builds trust and friendship between Greek speaking and Turkish speaking teenagers from the island of Cyprus. Although the two communities are completely separate in Cyprus the CFP brings the teens together and helps them to overcome deep pain and divisions between their communities. The teens travel to the US for a residential program in which they share a room for a month. In the process the teens are transformed from enemies to brothers and sisters.
