The Tigard Rotary Board met to discuss the 2019-20 budget.  Directors of each program/project submitted their proposals for the next fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019.  The budget proposals will be sent to the club for review, then on to the Tigard Rotary Foundation for review and funding.

The Rotary International Council on Legislation met and made some changes to the Constitution.  Of note: 1. Make-ups for missed meetings may now be made within the fiscal year, 2. There is no longer a limitation on the number of club members with the same classification.  Formerly, a meeting make-up had to be made within 2 weeks of the missed meeting.  3. Clubs will also now be required to review and submit a yearly report of financial standing to RI. Some of the changes will require a review/revision of our own club’s constitution.

After Ken VanDomelen’s presentation on projects in Guatemala, Rowland French gave a brief overview of a recent trip he took there in cooperation with Rotary Clubs from West Linn and California. The group helped build clean air cook stoves, distributed medicines, clean jugs of water, and wheelchairs (with Transitions).
