The Creating Friendships for Peace program, formerly known as Cyprus Friendship Program, still needs to raise $20,000 (nationwide) to support 40 students bound for several cities in the US this summer.  Airline tickets must be purchased no later than May 1 and time is of the essence.  An anonymous donor has put up $5,000 toward the deficit. Donations can be made to the local foundation, TRF, designate CFP in the subject line.

Mike and Melody Stone will host 2 girls from Cyprus.  There will be a total of 10 students in Tigard, Lake Oswego, Forest Grove, Hood River, & Battle Ground.

The deadline for Rose and Wine Sale orders is April 18.  Please return order forms to Bob Davidson no later than this Thursday.  This is our second-largest fund raiser of the year.

RYLA applications are due in May.  Our club will sponsor 2 young adults, aged 19 – 25, for this leadership program.  Please contact Tom Anderson if you want to recommend someone for the program.

Our first Adopt-a-Road cleanup is scheduled for April 20 at 9 AM.  Meeting location will be announced.

The THS Achievement Banquet will be held on May 5 at 6 PM at Wilsonville Holiday Inn.  Table sponsors ($100 each) are needed to support this event.  Please give checks to Jim Strickler.

Rob Musante is recovering from heart surgery.  Please keep him in your thoughts.

Grace Kuto expressed her thanks for all who attended the African Dinner last week.  Thanks also for the generous monetary support from Rotary members.  Money raised at the event will support our projects in Chwele, Kenya.

Exchange Student News:

Marcos has played 9 baseball games.  The THS JV team has a 4-5 record so far.

Sharron attended training for students going on exchange to Latin American countries.

Alice attended a birthday party for her host sister, Amelia.

Abby will go on a short-term exchange to Finland in July.

Jenna is busy baking items to raise money for Shelterbox.
