Our speakers today were the Hillsboro Chief of Police, Lee Dobrowoski, president of the in-development Family Justice Center for Washington County board chair, and board member, Judy Willey. They are both members of the Hillsboro Rotary Club.

Family Justice Centers are support agencies for victims of domestic violence. They provide:

  • A safe place for conversations about family violence
  • Access to shelter, food, child care, medical assistance, transportation, counseling, job connections and other social services in one place

In counties where such agencies exist, homicides because of domestic violence fall by 50%.

The Washington County center is scheduled to open in January 2018. Financial and volunteer support are welcome. Contact Chief Dobrowolski, 503.530.0599 or Judy Willey, 503.475.8435.
