Jim Sanders reminded everyone to pay the balance of 2016-17 dues if you have not yet done so.

Clancy has retired as club treasurer.  Incoming treasurer, Shannon Moxley has stepped up early to fill the void.

The Tigard City Council will take up the topic of Rotary Plaza at the meeting on March 28, beginning at 7:30 PM.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the Guatemala Clean Air Stove project.  We have received pledges of $4,700 so far; only $300 away from our club’s goal of $5,000.  Remember that every $50 donation will be matched by Rotary International and District 5100 to purchase stoves for members of the Lake Atitlan, Guatemala community.  Please pay your pledge by February 28.  Contact Ken or Julie for more info.

Rob sent around the Paul Harris raffle sign-up sheet.  Our goal is for every club member to donate at least $10 to Rotary International Foundation every year.  The raffle will be held next week.

Ed announced that both outbound exchange students will be going to Japan, their first choice of countries.  Congratulations Ethan and Evan!  The club board has agreed to pay the balance of Evan’s outbound fee.

A club social gathering will be held at Flyboy Brewing in Lake Oswego on Friday, Feb 24th at 6:00 PM.  Several different beer flights, hard cider, and hard rootbeer are available.  Gina will arrive early to save seats.  Food is available on site and Papa Murphy’s Pizza is right next door.  Come join in the fun!

Mike McCleskey offered to make Horseleap wine (red, white, or rose) available for purchase along with roses for this year’s annual club fund raiser.  Mike contacted the OLCC and will apply for a permit to sell the wine on May 4, the date we will deliver flowers.  Pre-orders will be taken for both wine and roses, or roses alone.  Jacob said that he can set up on-line sales.  A few people received sub-par roses last year and asked how this problem would be addressed/prevented.  Bob Davidson said that defective roses would be replaced or the money refunded.

Bonnie Conger has resigned from the club to care for her elderly mother.

Jack Schwab reminded everyone to purchase tickets for the Good Neighbor Center’s annual storytelling fund raiser at the Broadway Rose Theater on March 10 at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $50 each and are available either from Jack or online at the GNC web site.

The Tigard Balloon Festival will be held on June 23 – 25.  Rob Musante will contact several other non-profit groups to help.  He encouraged club members to ask friends and family to participate by volunteering for shifts at the festival.  Our club receives payment from the City of Tigard according to the number of shifts we cover at the festival.  Stay tuned for more info as the date approaches.

President Bill Monahan asked members to spend the balance of the meeting discussing their ideas for meeting and/or social programs for the rest of the 2016-17 fiscal year.
