Cheron Calder announced the the elections for the Rotary Club of Tigard 2017-18 Board of Directors is coming up soon. The election is scheduled for December 15th. The Board is made up of 11 directors, including the Past-President and the Chair of the Tigard Rotary Club Foundation. In addition to the President, President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer, there are five directors, who oversee the five program areas – Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, Youth Service, and International Service. If you are interested in serving on the Board next year, please let Cheron know.

Mike Stone announced that we have already distributed dictionaries to 3rd grade students at Templeton and Alberta Rider Elementary Schools. He says the next deliveries are scheduled for the schools listed below. Please contact Mike for further details, and to volunteer to help. (It’s actually a lot of fun!)

Kim Morris announced that he is working with the Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) on getting winter coats for our Operation Warm program. He also reminded members who signed up to contribute financially (i.e., buy jackets) should give him or Shannon Moxley a check for the amount pledged, made out to the “Rotary Club of Tigard Foundation”, as soon as possible. There is no date set yet for the distribution of the coats, but is will take place sometime in November. If you would like to participate or want more information, please contact Kim.

Bob Davidson announced that our Club will again be ringing bells for the Salvation Army this year. Mark your calendars to help out on Saturday, December 10th. Bob will have a sign-up sheet going around soon.

Cheron Calder announced that there will be a Club Peace Committee meeting sometime in the first week of December. Exact date, time and place to be announced. Please contact Cheron for more information.

Gina Cobb reminded everyone that the annual Holiday Party will be held on December 8th at the Tualatin Country Club. Members and guests should arrive about 6:00 pm. At 7:30 pm, following entertainment by a barbershop quartet, a buffet dinner will be served. There is no charge to members for the dinner, but guests will be charged $57/person. If you like, you can bring your own wine and just pay the $10 cork fee. Gina said that each member is being asked to bring a gift with a value of about $25 for the prizes. As usual, scrolls will be available for purchase.

Jack Schwab announced that we will be packing and distributing food boxes on Saturday, December 17th. We will meet in the community room of Hudson Plaza at 9:00 am.
