Students from THS Intercambio presented information about the program aimed at helping 8th graders with middle school classwork, college prep and applications.  There are 23 student mentors from Tigard High and 25 mentors from Tualatin High assisting students at Fowler, Hazelbrook, and Tuality middle schools.  Most of the mentees will be the first ones in their familes to attend college.  Program adviser and THS teacher, Chris Thompson explained that demand for placement in Intercambio has grown and that not everyone who applies is able to get into the program; however, students who are not accepted are placed into other assistance programs.
