Bob Davidson reported that we have sold 407 dozen roses so far, up from 322 dozen sold last year!  We earn $10 on each dozen, therefore we have raised over $4000 for the club, not including $1000 in donations made in lieu of sales.  The rose sale is the second largest fund raiser of the year.

Roses may be picked up in the parking lot at Minuteman Press, at 7555 SW Hermoso Way, beginning at 9 AM on Thursday, April 28.

There will not be a Rotary meeting on April 28.

Jacob Pilling reported that we have 47% of the sponsors needed for Ten Grands on the Green.  We need to get to a sponsorship rate of 60% to break even.  Jacob passed out flyers that explain the available “bargain” sponsorships and advertising specials that may appeal to small business owners.  Please let Jacob know if you can recommend anyone who might be interested in a sponsorship or program ad.  Between 2,000 and 3,000 people are expected to attend the event on July 31, 2016.

The THS Achievement Banquet is set for 6 PM on May 1.  Please let Dan Murphy know if you plan to attend so that he can give the hotel a head count.

Raffle winners were Marty, Jim Sanders, Bob Davidson, and Lazaro.

Charly, our inbound exchange student from Austria, has moved to her last host family home and loves it!  The food is “amazing.”

Past President Sue Yesilada talked about her year in office from January 2005 to July 2006.  She stepped into the role nearly 6 months early when the acting president retired and moved to Bend.  She remembered the year as Rotary’s Centennial (Rotary was founded in 1905) and recalled hosting RI past president, Rick King.  Over $10,000 was raised at the Rose Sale and $7,500 came in from the Tigard Balloon Festival.  The club also completed a Centennial Project: building a playground structure at the Good Neighbor Center.    Tigard Rotary joined forces with Portland Rotary to co-founded Portland Rotaract.  PETS training was exceptional and 55,000 people attended the international meeting in Chicago.  Of note, Sue remembers that every club member she asked for help said “yes!”
