Visitors were many, including former members Jack Schwab and Steve Slabaugh, Terry Hatfield from Tigard Breakfast Rotary, Susan Winterborn from Forest Grove Rotary, Allison Stone, Grace Kuto, Chris Cohen, and Elliott Cohen.

Ed Murphy received a Service above Self award for his tireless support of the club, his work as Youth Exchange Officer, his photography, and his roles as club procedure hound, historian, and archivist.  Congratulations for a job well done!

Ten Grands on the Green is in 11 days, on Sunday July 30!  Volunteers are needed for various positions, including 15 people to set up chairs at 9 AM, and 10 people to drive golf carts and ferry guests to and fro.  Please let Andrea know if you can help.  There will be a meeting immediately following next week’s regular meeting to discuss logistics of the event.  All volunteer participants are encouraged to attend.  We need ALL HANDS ON DECK to make this event successful!

In addition, ticket sales for Ten Grands are down and we need everyone to talk-up the event to their friends, family, and social network.  Remember to visit other Rotary clubs to promote the event if you have signed up to do so (or even if you haven’t).

The Farm to Table dinner for Tigard Chamber of Commerce will be held Friday July 21.  Call the Chamber for tickets.

Four social events are planned for the next fiscal year.  Bowling and Beer will definitely be on tap this fall.  Please let Gina know if you have requests or ideas for social events.

The balance of the meeting time was spent honoring retiring member, Stuart Cohen and his wife, Chris for their many years of service to the club.  Stuart was a club member for nearly 30 years, and served in various positions including club President and Secretary.  He was a club board member for 15 years and a foundation board member for 20 years.  His experience as an attorney and his business acumen were integral in making the foundation successful.

Stuart and Chris will also be remembered for planning the annual winery tour and luncheon and Chris, in particular, for her organizational and culinary skills.  Their son, Elliott was present at many club functions as a youngster, including his first appearance at the age of 6 days.   He also participated in RYLA.

Stuart, Chris, and Elliott are each Paul Harris Fellows.
