Christine Moore was our speaker this week. She is a publisher for the Tigard Times, The Beaverton Valley Times, The Sherwood Gazette and the Regal Courier in King city. Christine also is the advertising director for the Pamplin Media groups’s west-side group, including the Portland Tribune, Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Wilsonville, Sherwood, King City and Southwest Portland. She has worked for Pamplin media group for the past fifteen years.

Dr. Robert Pamplin Jr. is the owner the media group and lives here in Lake Owesgo. Being locally owned gives local publishers a lot of antonymy. Media publications have changed, they provide information that is on TV, Radio, Internet there are a lot of sources for getting the information.

Pamplin media group has a niche, they let people know what is going on with Chambers, School board, City of Tigard,shares success and wins of people. Circulation has increased in the last few years. There are 24 different news papers.

They have a commitment for quality and what is important to the readers. Christine said they want to deliver news you are not going to see online or on Katu. It is local events. Help local business, promote local business, advertisement is by local companies. They help advertise the Tigard Street Fair and Tigard Balloon festival.

Pamplin media group is one of Tigard’s biggest cheerleaders. Jeff Tainer a member of our club said that the detail that is put into the local kids sports coverage is fabulous and very cool. Christine said Dan Bread is the one who is writing and covering these events and he is amazing.

There are many advertising packages available through, print, digital, social media, on their Facebook page, mobile advertising. Print products are very important to Pamplin media group, they want local groups to be successful. They want to continue to grow and be a active participate in the community.
