Our 2013-2014 Outbound Exchange Student Reilly King provided a very informative program on January 8th, our first regular lunch meeting in 2015. She displayed her Rotary blazer, adorned with pinsawarded her by other exchange students. Reilly has become fluent in German. In Austria, hiking is king. She has trekked everywhere; the Austrian Alps (“The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music”), Vienna (chocolate), Salzburg (strudel), Prague, Dresden, Berlin, Innsbruck, Linz, Venice, Bruges, and Barcelona (churros). She learned to ski (down hill and cross country), but she is not quite an Olympian. Austrian cuisine was great and she “loves” all of their cheeses (white lie).

Reilly was very impressed with the meaning of family in Austria. She plans to underline that value here, at home. She tried to dispel the Austrian notion that Americans live on cheeseburgers, drive their fancy car everywhere, and sit on their butts all day. Next is college – UCLA, Berkley, UC Davis, Occidental, maybe OSU? Traveling the world will endure in the years to come. Good job Reilly![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
