LARRY BRIGGS, PRESIDENT of  V2A SOLUTIONS

Sticky Leadership, How Entrepreneurs Get Their Leadership to Stick in the Heads, Hearts and Actions of Others.

Larry Briggs was born into leadership as the oldest of nine siblings. He didn’t want the job despite the fact that his dad repeatedly said he was a leader destined to make an impact on the world.  He successfully accomplished his first business turnaround in his mid-twenties and developed his love of business and the people uniquely called to grow organizations.  Being challenged by the ongoing question of what it means to be a leader he has aimed his life’s work at making leadership simple, effective, and doable.  After a successful career in software, twenty-five years ago he launched an Executive Coaching, Training, and Consulting business working with entrepreneurs to help them get their companies through adolescence into maturity.

His first book is titled Sticky Leadership – How successful entrepreneurs get their leadership to stick in the heads, hearts, and actions of others.

We had the great pleasure to have Larry Briggs speak to our club. Larry has had a successful consultant career for 26 years. He is good friends with Conrad Pearson our clubs Sergeant at Arms. He used Conrad and his Royals Royce to propose to his wife Anne. Anne thought Conrad was the chauffeur, not the cars owner.

He summarized there are groups of people in a job environment

High Energy Personality- Get’s things done

Abundance in relationships-Comfortable

Problem Solving- Diagnose and figure things out

Archive- Follow the rules, what is written is law

Adversity has value

Sticky Leadership is based on always uphill, create breakthroughs, kink in the hose

1-Learn to love uphill

2-Lead from the inside out, do things for yourself first, lead yourself, be that person and lead

3-Create a game with playing the uphill journey has to be worth it, go after the situation not the people.

Follow a leader that makes things happen and solves the problem.  Be the type of leader that takes the phone calls from the customer/clients, do not filter the calls.

We dedicated Larry’s book in our Tigard Library as a thank you for being our guest speaker.
