Mike Stone announced that we are starting our annual dictionary program. The first distribution of dictionaries to 3rd grade students is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 26th, 1:30 PM, at Templeton Elementary School. The second delivery is tentatively scheduled for Friday, October 28th, 10:30 AM, at Alberta Rider Elementary School. The schedule is tentative because of some publishing issues. Mike will send out an email to all club members on Tuesday afternoon confirming the times and places. Please contact Mike for further details.
Dan Murphy announced that we would like more members to sign up to deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels program. Please contact Dan to sign up.
Cheron Calder announced that there will be a Club Peace Committee meeting sometime in the first week of December. Exact date, time and place to be announced. Please contact Cheron for more information.
Gina Cobb announced that the annual Holiday Party is planned for December 8th at the Tualatin Country Club. Members and guests should arrive about 6:00 pm. At 7:30 pm, following entertainment by a barbershop quartet, a buffet dinner will be served. There is no charge to members for the dinner, but guests will be charged $57/person. If you like, you can bring your own wine and just pay the $10 cork fee. Gina said that each member is being asked to bring a gift with a value of about $25 for the prizes. As usual, scrolls will be available for purchase.
Jack Schwab announced that we will be packing and distributing food boxes on Saturday, December 17th. We will meet in the community room of Hudson Plaza at 9:00 AM.
