Julie announced that she has formed a committee with Gina and Meredith to plan a social event at Blakeslee Vineyard on Saturday, May 7.  The event would begin in the mid to late afternoon and include dinner outside at the winery’s new pavilion.  Julie asked everyone to think about 2 options for dinner.  Option 1: Blakeslee has a caterer on site who has quoted $30 per person for a selection of appetizers, salads, potatoes, and desserts. Club members would provide their own protein for the grill.  Wine would be extra.  Option 2 is to make the event potluck.  Anyone interested in working on the winery event committee should contact Julie.

Rob reminded everyone about the $10 raffle for 500 Paul Harris points.  The purpose of the raffle is to encourage everyone in the club to donate to the International Foundation so that our club meets its goal of “every Rotarian, every year.”  Each club member may buy one chance to win the points which will take him/her halfway to the 1000 points (dollars) needed for Paul Harris recognition.  A sign up sheet was sent around.

Rob also reminded us that the group tasting (liquor, not wine) on February 18 at Indio Spirits Distillery is full but a waiting list is available.

Exchange student, Charly, recently went cross country skiing for the first time.  She said she had fun but prefers downhill skiing.  She also proudly announced that the THS dance team in which she participates took First Place at last week’s competition.  Congratulations, Charly!

Jim Sanders is back after suffering a mild heart attack a couple of weeks ago.  He said he is feeling good.

Sergeant Conrad asked everyone to put $2 on the table and then spin the wheel for a chance to get it back.  Spins up to $5 were on each member but spins over $5 (up to $100) were on Conrad.  We quickly raised over $100 for the club.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
