Short-term outbound student, Will Christensen was also in attendance.  Will is hoping to go on a long-term exchange to Germany to strengthen his leadership abilities and enhance his college admissions applications.

We were reminded that Board elections will be held next week for 2016 positions.

Six people are still needed to ring the bell for Salvation Army at Washington Sq Mall this Saturday.  Call or email Bob Davidson if you can help.

On Saturday Dec 19, we will be packing and delivering holiday food boxes for the Good Neighbor Center.  Jack Schwab sent around a sign up sheet.  You can also call, email, or sign up using the new web site sign up feature.

Gina announced that the Broadway Rose Theater will be holding a fund raiser on January 16 and she already has her tickets.  The show is a one man send-up, entitled Laughing Matters, featuring none other than our own Dan Murphy.

Mike Stone reported that 600 English and 100 Spanish dictionaries were distributed to third graders in Tigard this year. Our club’s participation was eclipsed by that of other clubs.  Mike also made donations to the Foundation in honor of his birthday and anniversary.  Thanks, Mike!

Stand-in Sergeant, Jacob, asked everyone to write something nice about every other club member and passed around sheets of paper so that we could do so.  He announced that next week’s sergeant’s activity will be based on the Food Network show, Cut Throat Kitchen.

Jacob also announced that donations can be made on line using the new feature on our web site, www.tigardrotary.org.  You can donate with PayPal or make a pledge and write a check.

Clancy announced that this year’s budget is headed in the right direction, thanks to the increased fees members are paying to defray the cost of the meeting room rental.

Ken, Carole, and Kristan Van Domelen will leave mid-January on their annual trip to Guatemala.  They will participate in the scholarship program with other Rotarians.

Rep. Margaret Doherty presented the Tigard High School Leadership Award to Morgan Chamberlain, October Student of the Month.  Morgan is an artist, javelin thrower, and works part time at Bridgeport Village.  She designed and painted the beautiful mural at THS.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
