Cliff reported that Ana, our inbound exchange student from Austria, arrived on Saturday and was greeted at the airport by her host family and several Rotarians.  Sabrina, our outbound exchange student, left for Japan on Monday, Aug 24.  Cliff also reminded us that next week’s meeting will include all-hands-on-deck letter prep for the annual Youth Exchange Information Night at Tigard High.  About 250 letters will go out to prospective exchange students.

Cheron circulated a sign-up sheet for the pottery painting social that will be held in October.  President Rob will act as sommelier.  Don’t forget that finished pieces will be auctioned off and funds will benefit the club.

The Tigard Street Fair is coming up soon on September 12.  Let Dianna know if you can help.

The annual club winery tour will be held on Oct 3 from about 10:30 – 6.  A sign-up sheet was circulated. Contact Stuart if you have questions.

The BBQ scheduled for Sunday at the Van Domelen’s was cancelled due to expected, inclement weather.

Rob reported that the Club Board had approved going forward with Ten Grands 2016.  The recommendation was sent on to the Foundation Board for approval.

The Gates Foundation is still tripling all donations to Polio Plus.  Skip Barnhart plans to walk the 500-mile long Camino de Santiago this fall to raise money for Polio eradication.

Conrad, our esteemed sergeant-at-arms, called for the best jokesters in the club to stand up and try for a get-out-of-jail-free card for this month’s fees.  Cheron was judged the lucky winner.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
