Visitors included Marie Watkins from Tigard Breakfast Rotary and Patrick Cook from East Portland Rotary.

Ishu, our new exchange student from India, presented the club with flags from her parents’ clubs.

Outbound exchange student, Annie was given club flags to take with her to Italy.  She headed for Milan last Saturday.

The East Portland Rotary will hold its annual Wine Fest on September 18.

Our annual winery tour will be held on Oct 2.  Stuart will be sending around a sign up sheet at the next meeting.

Jack reported that the Good Neighbor Center back-to-school party was successful.  40 backpacks were handed out to kids who attended.  Thanks to everyone who chipped in to purchase shoe gift cards.  If you haven’t already paid your pledge please do so.

There will be an information meeting on Sept 8 for anyone interested in becoming District Governor in the future.  Contact President Bill for more info.

Birol reminded everyone that the annual update on the local foundation will be held at the Sept 15 meeting.  Three board positions are up for re-election.  Please contact him if you are interested in running for a position.

Ken reported that he received a Global Rotary Grant to provide cook stoves in the Lake Atilan region of Guatemala.  We need to raise $10,000 in additional funds.  Please let Ken know if you would like to contribute.

Rob reported that Gina is leaving his employ to go back into the jewelry business.

Marland, Jack, and Birol made donations in honor of birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations.  Pat Cook made a donation in honor of his son, Blake who won a slot at RYLA courtesy of our club.

Stand-in SAA, Jacob led us in a hilarious round of reverse charades to raise money for Conrad’s budget.  I must say that this was hands down the most fun I’ve ever had at a club meeting.
