Our speaker on August 13, 2015 was Gregg Giboney. Greg is a 7-year Rotarian serving as a member and past president of the Rotary Club of West Linn, past editor for the District 5100 Newsletter, assistant to DGE Tom Markos as a coordinator for the 2016 District Training Assembly, and an organizer of the SE Region Peace and Humanity Symposium.
Gregg was born and raised in Eastern Washington outside of Spokane. He obtained a degree in finance and accounting from Washington State University in 1978 and moved to Oregon to start his career in banking. Since that time, Gregg focused his bank career on investment related areas such as fixed income trading, bank funding, equity analyst for various industries, portfolio manager for personal and trust accounts, and institutional portfolio manager for value oriented portfolios and mutual funds. In that time, Gregg obtained an MBA from the University of Portland and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ®) designation.
In 2005, he started out on his own with the founding of Timberline Investment Management, LLC, an independent registered investment advisory firm licensed in the states of Oregon and Washington. Gregg has also been active in the local investment community having served as past president and board member of the Portland CFA Society and as a participant in various CFA institute events. He also serves within the Item Development Program of the North American Securities Administrators Association that consists of a group of regulators and industry leaders to craft questions for the Series 63, 65 and 66 examinations. Passage of some or all of these examinations is often required to enter the securities industry.
Another endeavor and the subject of today’s talk is Gregg’s position as a member of the
investment committee of The Rotary Foundation. Gregg is now starting the 3rd year of a 6
year term and looks forward to this opportunity to share information and experiences from
this Rotary privilege.

Greg also mentioned if anyone is interested in knowing what position’s are open at Rotary Headquarters it is listed in the Rotarian magazine.
